Well, that failed…

Hey Guys! So, I had some really great plans and ambitions for this blog.  After my princess mini-series, I was going to discuss the role of superheroes among children in media, then move on to further analyze other aspects of media.  If you would like to see a glimpse into my hopes and dreams, you can check out the “mourning mural” posted on the homepage where I spent around 30 minutes or so selecting photos representative of modern media and arranging them into a collage. Clearly, that plan has crashed and burned.

Fear not! I’m sure you are all overwhelmed with deep sadness upon this disappointment, however, the fact still remains true.  Media sucks, in a really cool and sometimes hypnotic way.  But still, I hate how much influence it has.  So, as a small activity before we admit complete defeat, let’s take a moment of silence to recognize what this may mean for each of us individually…

Yep. K. Now, let’s move on with that chip off of our shoulder, ’cause let’s be honest, that princess section was pretty dry for me, so I can’t imagine how torturous it was for you guys.  In the awkward meantime while I try to figure out my next blog post, I’ll share some of the music I have been listening to while I write this blog. So here we go:

  1. My Current Favorite “Current” Song: Lukas Graham – 7 Years

2. After Lukas Graham’s song, Youtube led me to: Ruth B – Lost Boy

3. Her song reminded me of: Daughter – Youth

4. After this, things get a little foggy. I listened to Chainsmokers – Roses

5. This led me to a rapidly increasing downward spiral.  I gravitated towards my “Shazam” app.  From Tom Odell (‘Another Love’) to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (‘I Tried’), I’m still sitting here, listening to Incubus (‘Drive’) and Del Amitri (‘Roll to Me’) reliving my childhood.

So here’s to procrastination everybody! Darn you media!

Stay safe out there!
